Caption sharing the creative process:

This painting began without consideration to the outcome.  Working with 140 lb Arches

ColdPress watercolor paper and Golden Fluid Acrylics, I laid down color and shapes abstractly.

In my creative process I respond intuitively to what pleases my eye. Each look would spark the

next step.  Satisfied with my progress overall, yet knowing that the painting needed something

more to be remarkable, I put it away into the flat file for another day.  Months later, I decided

to paint an Italian friend’s cat Mascherina. ECCO, L'HO TROVATO!  I would paint her cat into

the abstraction.  This time I approached the painting with a plan, determined for Mascherina

not to be an intruder but to be interwoven into the composition of texture and movement.

And of course, she became the star!

born, transformational, honest, and unexpected!”
